Why choose Pilates?

Pilates is beneficial to people of all ages. Pilates is a form of low impact exercise the main aim of which is to strengthen your core (back and abdominal muscles). This leads to improved postural awareness and flexibility through all joints. We learn how our bodies move in the most efficient way during Pilates. It's a safe way of exercising which provides a great foundation to build on. Each exercise offers a progression depending on how our body feels that day! I always say "listen to your body!"

​I joined Gillians Pilates classes in March 2025, its been great fun and I have a lot less low back pain! Its a lovely group of mixed ages, II would definitely reccomend Gillian and one of her  classes.

The Pilates Class is incredibly friendly and uplifting, grreat vibes! The instructor exlains everything clearly and offers helpful adjustments.  Gillian creates a positiive enviroment where everyone feels at ease.  I'm in my 3rd year of Pilates and highly recommend it.

I really enjoy attending Pure Pilates classes as they are so brilliant for the mind and body. Gillian is a kind and caring instructor, who greets everyone with a smile at the beginning of every session. The atmosphere is friendly, inclusive and relaxed plus lessons are taught to meet the needs of participants with different levels of experience as well as those recovering from injuries or health problems. The fact that Gillian is also a qualified physiotherapist means that her knowledge of the correct exercises to do to target problem areas is second to none. All in all, Pure Pilates classes are very highly recommended.
